Edmonds is one of our favorites places to spend the day. We plan a nice lunch on our way to the art galleries, and then we walk down the sidewalk to Canarino Gelato. We always linger in the Edmonds Book Shop, then go nextdoor to say "hello" to our friends at the Cole Gallery. We enjoy picking up gifts for family members in one of our favorite shops along the way.
Several of Edmond's restaurants offer outdoor seating, where you may hear the sounds of the Ferry traffic, and seagulls soaring overhead. The Mexican restaurant, El Puerto, is one of our favorites. After lunch, it's usually time to head to the Edmonds beach along Puget Sound, to enjoy warm sand beneath our feet, with an old log to lean against in the sun. We can't imagine a better place to spend a sunny Saturday!
Alderwood Mall is anchored by Seattle's famous REI, the outdoor recreation giant, and Nordstroms, the department store known for outstanding customer service. There is also a wide selection of restaurants, too; sit-down family style offerings, Asian favorites, American fare at Claim Jumpers, and authentic Italian pizza. There is a large movie theatre complex at the south west end, and free parking surrounds the mall. For complete details on what may be found at Alderwood Mall, please follow this link.
